My understanding of this book is that it will be exciting and fun, I think it will have multiple things happening at once, sort of chaotic. It might be like a action/ adventure movie but in a book.

This part of the book tells about Dave and his friends and their search for the 7,000 dollars that they need to have a sweet life. The kids are dessprete after failing the "catching the bad guy thing" so they try to find some coins that were stolen from a bank ten years ago and left in something called the china tunnels under Tacoma WA

This part of the book tells of Dave and his friends looking for a way to get 7,000 dollars to have a sweet life. They found a way too get the money by catching a bank robber when hes robing the bank. They plan a steak out in a coffee shop in front of the bank and sit there for something to happen to the bank. The people who own the Coffee Shop are starting to get suspicious of Dave and this friends. One day when Dave was going to the bath room he heard the owner saying to the cook that they might be bad if they keep staying at the coffee shop.

What I think that the author was trying to communicate about the book thru the pictures is the story will involve lots of money. The mood that I thing the author was trying to set was to be mysterious about what will happen in the story.

In this part of the story an old lady takes credit for catching the robbery instead of the main character Dave and his friends who actually caught the robbers p. 77. Dave and his friends visit the mall, and saw they could win $10,000 if they guessed the right amount of jellybeans in a giant jar p.82. Dave had to actually go to Fircrest pool to act like he was working because his dad wanted to come visit his boss and co workers p. 94. It is overcast in the skies during this part of the story p.105. Dave and his friends make a plan to find treasure in the China Tunnels p.107.

The title Project Sweet Life means that someone is creating a project to have a sweet life. The author chose this title because the story has to do with someone making a project or plan to make their life better. The title is a literal meaning because the title implies that there is a project to have a sweet life so the title tells what the story is about. You can judge the book Project Sweet Life by its own cover.

This is the last part of the book, in this part the Group of kids go looking in the bay for the money from the bank and they find it but the money is ruined. There was nothing new in this part but its like all of the parts that the story had came together and told them where to find 1.6 million$. So no new history just all the old history coming together.
Other parts of history in the Tacoma area is Nov 1940 - Tacoma became famous as the site of one of the world's worst engineering failures when the Tacoma Narrows suspension bridge collapsed in November 1940.
Two News Tribune employees, copy editor Leonard Coatsworth and photographer Howard Clifford, were among the last people on the bridge before it fell into the Narrows. Their first-person accounts, and Clifford's pics of the bridge collapse, are still journalism classics.

Summary of book

Project Sweet Life by Brent Hartinger tells of a boy named Dave and his friends, trying to get money but not having to work. Dave's dad wants proof that Dave is really working and not having fun during the summer. This is a good and exiting book and you should read it.
In this part of the story the Chinese were mentioned again this story seem to be about the Chinese more then the boys. The discovery of gold in the Klondike in 1898 led Tacoma's prominence in the region to be eclipsed by the booming development of Seattle.

Tacoma was incorporated on November 12, 1875. Its hopes to be the "City of Destiny" were helped by selection in 1873 as the western terminus of the Northern Pacific Railroad, thanks to lobbying by McCarver, future mayor John Wilson Sprague, and others. (post 4)

The history of Tacoma is shifty in some places to say the least. Tacoma adopted its name after the nearby Mount Rainier originally called Mount Tahoma.
In 1998, Tacoma installed a high-speed fiber optic network throughout the community. The municipally owned power company wired the city. post 2

Some things that may have changed the story of project sweet life could be when the first black president is elected on November 4 2008.
February 10, 2007, Barack Obama, then junior United States senator from Illinois, announced his candidacy for the presidency of the United States.
He was the first African-American in American History to be nominated by a major party.
(Post 1)
In this part there was mention of a thing in Tacoma where the mayor and others destroyed the china town in anger that they were taking the jobs but really they took the jobs no one else wanted. The mayo gave them about a week to get out When some didn’t they forced them out burned china town and pushed the remains into the bay. The railroad increased Tacoma's industrial development.
Coal mines were opened and Tacoma became the major coaling station on the Pacific Coast. The lumber industry expanded while new industries included a flour mill, a salmon cannery, and machine shops. (post 3)
